Born in 1981 and raised in the mountains West of Fort Collins, Colorado, pianist Brian Collins has been blind from birth and started writing songs on the drums and piano from the age of six. His senior year of high school he met the young guitarist Sean Waters and they formed their first band together, which later became the critically acclaimed improvisational rock band Wasabi (voted best jam band in '07 and '08 by Fort Collins Musicians Association and best jam band in Denver by Denvers Westword).
After Wasabi went on indefinite hiatus in 2008, Collins and Waters continued to foster their musical chemistry and songwriting collaboration as The Seers. in 2010, they self-produced and released a little-heard stream-of-consciousness piano-rock album "Universal Tree." After getting 2nd place in the 2010 Scene Magazine Battle of the Bands, the Seers recorded and released "Hydra," a heavier, more electric guitar driven blues rock album in 2011. Now writing and performing as a stripped-down piano and guitar duo, Collins and Waters are producing a unique blend of acoustic soul, electric blues, and classic piano rock with a tinge of psychedelia and Americana. With a repertoire of over 400 covers and 80 originals, The Seers have about ten hours worth of music to get crowds swaying, moving, and smiling. They began recording their first full-length release at Stout Studios in Fort Collins and expect to release the album in the spring of 2013.
